Our history

NGS Super was established in the late 1980s as an industry fund for teachers in independent schools. They were humble beginnings, both for the super industry and our fund. With less than $1 million under management and just one investment option when we began, we’ve grown significantly over the last 3 decades, but we’ve always remained dedicated to our members and their retirement outcomes.

As a leading industry super fund we run only to benefit members. We offer low fees, award-winning insurance, sound long-term investment performance and a strong carbon-neutral focus. All our profits go back to our members — everything we do is about helping our members prepare for their tomorrow and the retirement that lies ahead.

We were originally established to provide super to teachers in non-government schools and employees in community organisations. With over 30 years involvement in the education industry, we’ve developed an understanding of the unique circumstances and needs of teachers. And while we’re proud to maintain those focused services, the benefits of an NGS membership are open to all Australians.

Ensuring strong returns will always be of the core of our work as a super fund, but we also prioritise the security and education of our members. We also have a team of experienced and professional financial planners to provide you with advice and education when you need it.
