NGS Super welcomes its new members from QIEC Super.
Below you will find a number of resources that will provide you with more information about the 6th May 2019 Merger.
The merger will see NGS Super’s assets increase to around $11 billion and membership increase to around 120,000. This merger is a positive and exciting step for all members. The larger Fund will have a stronger presence in the superannuation industry with greater bargaining power with service providers, and it is expected to gain benefits from the merger that will underpin new products and services that can be offered to members in future.
QIEC Super members’ account balances were automatically transferred to NGS Super on 6 May 2019 and a new account was established in NGS Super.
There will be a limited service period for QIEC Super members who are transitioning to NGS Super between 6 May 2019 to 26 May 2019. The purpose of the limited service period is to allow new member accounts to be established and to ensure that all data received is tested for accuracy. This means that for a period, only a limited number of transactions on accounts will be possible, to ensure that we can accurately transfer all records across.
Key dates for transitioning members:
- 06 May – Your account transfers to NGS Super
- Mid-May – You will be sent a letter confirming the establishment of your account
- 27 May – Limited Service Period ends and we will be able to view and manage your account for you by phone or in writing
- Early June - You will be sent an exit statement from QIEC Super.
- Mid June - You will be sent details about how to register to view and manage your account using Member Online. Your BPAY details will be available via Member Online by clicking on your personal details icon in the top right-hand corner of the home page. You will also be sent a letter confirming your account details including financials.

Member numbers for existing QIEC Super members will change from 6 May 2019.
However, for simplicity and continuity purposes, the new NGS Super member number will incorporate the existing QIEC Super member number. As QIEC Super members presently have a unique member number that is between 2 and 6 digits in length, members transitioning will have a prefix of the digits ‘44’ applied to the start of their member number and leading zeros will be added where required to make their new member number a 9 digit number.
