2014 NGS Super Scholarships are now open
Enhance your personal and professional development
NGS Super supports the non-government education sector by providing up to six professional development scholarships.
The scholarship categories are:
- Teaching (3 scholarships available)
- Management (1 scholarship available)
- Support staff (1 scholarship available)
- People’s choice (1 scholarship available)
The purpose of the scholarships is not to replace the professional development that schools provide to employees. Rather it is to assist NGS Super members to conduct a unique study tour, professional development course or project of their choice in Australia or overseas that is likely to result in positive impacts that go beyond the recipient’s immediate school. We anticipate that the information and skills derived will enable the recipients to make contributions to the education sector in which they work, as well as providing professional development and personal growth.
NGS Super will provide up to $5,000 to each winner. This money is to be allocated to the nominated study tour, course or project for associated expenses such as course fees (if applicable), airfares, accommodation and general expenses. Once announced by 30 September 2014, each winner has until 31 December 2015 to complete their nominated project before the scholarship expires.
Who can apply?
To be selected for one of the six available scholarships, you must:
- be in a non-government education employee working in a support staff, management or teaching position
- be a member of NGS Super
- be an Australian resident
- intend to continue employment in the non-government education sector for at least one year following the completion of the proposed study tour, course or project.
How to enter
Finalists and scholarship winners will be notified by Saturday, 30 September 2014.
