NGS Super Scholarship Awards 2012

Scholarship Awards 2012

NGS Super would like to support the non-government education and mutual finance sectors by providing up to six professional development scholarships.

The scholarship categories are:

  • teaching
  • management (education and credit union and building society employees)
  • ancillary staff (education and credit union and building society employees)

The scholarships will allow successful applicants to complete a study tour, professional development course or project of their choice in Australia or overseas.

We anticipate that the information and skills developed will enable the recipients to make significant contributions to their employers and will provide invaluable professional development and personal growth.

NGS Super will provide up to $5,000 to each winner. This money is to be allocated to the nominated study tour, course or project for associated expenses such as course fees (if applicable), airfares, accommodation and general expenses. Once announced, each winner has 18 months to complete their nominated project before the scholarship expires.

Selection process

All entries will be viewed by a panel of judges. The judging panel will consist of NGS Super directors who will critically examine the applications for the following:

  • desire to contribute to and improve Australian non-government education or mutual finance sector
  • enthusiasm for education, learning and personal growth
  • potential to add value to the applicant's non-government education or mutual finance environment.

The judges reserve the right to interview applicants and to vary the number of scholarships granted in any category.

Who can apply?

To be selected for one of the six available scholarships, you must:

  • be a non-government education employee working in an ancillary, management or teaching position, or a mutual finance employee working in an ancillary or management position
  • be a member of NGS Super
  • be an Australian resident, and
  • intend to continue employment in the non-government education or mutual finance sector for at least one year following the completion of the proposed study tour, course or project.
