Small Business Superannuation Clearing House

What is it?

The Australian Government is offering a free online clearing house service to small businesses with fewer than 20 employees. The Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (the Clearing House) is designed to reduce the red tape and compliance costs for small business when meeting their superannuation guarantee obligations. As part of these obligations, businesses may need to make superannuation contributions into numerous different superannuation funds. This process can be time-consuming and result in increased admin costs.

How it works?

The Clearing House is administered by Medicare Australia and lets small businesses pay superannuation contributions to a single location.
Employers can register their employees' superannuation fund details and superannuation contributions with the Clearing House for processing. The Clearing House will then distribute the super contributions to relevant funds.
NGS Super is registered with Medicare to receive any contributions from employers sent through the Clearing House.

How to do it

  • Visit the Medicare website www.medicareaustralia.gov.au/super or call 1300 660 048 for further information and to register to use the Clearing House.
  • Existing NGS Super employers with fewer than 20 employees can use the Clearing House as an alternative to their current method of contribution.
  • NGS Super provides two easy-to-use online payment options, including a clearing house.
