Laura Wright

Laura has worked in senior management positions in the superannuation industry for nearly 20 years. Following a career as a teacher and union official with the Independent Education Union and after some years as a Trustee Director of NGS Super, Laura worked as a Relationship and Administration Manager with the large industry superannuation administrators before joining NGS Super in 2008 as the General Manager, Operations.

“NGS Super has grown enormously since my time as a Trustee Director. I am very pleased to have the opportunity to bring my superannuation administration skills and experience to the Fund. Efficient and member focussed administration and services gives NGS Super members’ better value for money.”

Bernard O’Connor

Bernard is a former high school teacher who has been working in superannuation for the past 12 years. He holds a BA, MA, Diploma of Education, Diploma of Law and an Advanced Certificate of Financial Services (Superannuation). As a former teacher, Bernard brings a wealth of experience in the independent school sector to his position as Manager of Member Services. He regularly writes about superannuation and his articles can be accessed under “Absolutely Super” on the NGS website.

Lisa Samuels

Lisa has worked in business development, marketing and client relationship roles within the superannuation industry for over 15 years. Lisa joined NGS Super in 2005, as part of the merger with the Independent Schools Superannuation Trust (ISST). Lisa was the winner of the Women in Super Scholarship Award to attend the Global Dialogue in Hong Kong in 2010.

Ben Squires

Ben has worked within the investment area of the Financial Services Industry for many years. Prior to joining NGS Super in 2008, Ben worked as an Investment Analyst at MLC for 3 years.

“At NGS Super, the investment team’s sole focus is to generate the best possible risk adjusted returns for our members. We are constantly considering ways in which we can grow and protect our member’s retirement savings which is an extremely rewarding mandate.”

Kathy Alexander

Kathy has worked within the superannuation industry for three decades. Initially for AMP’s corporate superannuation department in a variety of roles encompassing administration, systems, training and consulting. Kathy spent approximately five years being directly responsible for the overall management of the Pension Fund and Corporate Trustee associated with GEC plc UK’s various operations and joint ventures in Australia. After 9 years as the Executive Officer of Cuesuper, Kathy joined NGS Super in April 2011 following the merger of these funds. Kathy holds the Diploma of Superannuation Management (ASFA / Macquarie University) and is a Fellow of ASFA (FASFA).

“The reason I have stayed working in superannuation for as long as I have is because it is all about people and whenever possible having people take an interest in their super can empower them to achieve their longer term goals for retirement and hopefully a sustained quality of lifestyle.”

Kerry Mulley

Kerry has worked in financial services – in and around superannuation - for four decades. He has held senior administration and risk and compliance roles in a number of prominent financial services companies including Tyndall Life, Zurich Financial Services and Commonwealth Bank, and has been a trustee director of a corporate super fund. Kerry joined NGS Super in January 2008 and holds degrees in Economics (University of Sydney) and Law (Macquarie University) and a Diploma of Superannuation Management (ASFA).

Andrew Dunkerley

Andrew brings with him fourteen years of expertise in financial services and superannuation-based wealth creation strategies and is passionate about helping people map out their financial future. Andrew most recently worked at Industry Funds Financial Planning for around five years in a number of senior roles. In that time he worked closely with an array of Industry Superannuation Funds and understands the sector intimately.  

“Financial planning allows me to help individuals meet their lifestyle objectives. This enables me to make a real difference and is why I am so passionate about my role at NGS Super.”
