| Are you able to claim a tax
offset? |

Many people think this is a great thing to do, it's a way of topping up
your partner's super. As long as at least one of you is a member of NGS Super, you can contribute
to the fund for your husband, wife (or de facto partner) and your spouse can make contributions on
your behalf.
You may also be able be to claim a tax offset. There is no limit to the amount of
contributions that can be made. The limit is on the tax offset that may be claimed.
Tax offset conditions
Say your spouse works part time, earning less than $10,800 as assessable income and
reportable fringe benefits.
You could qualify for the tax offset maximum of $540 per annum (18% on a $3,000
spouse contribution), as long as you also meet the following conditions:
