About NGS Super

NGS Super was established in New South Wales in 1988. Initially employing only a handful of staff in a single office, the Fund has now grown to around 25 employees spanning four offices in NSW, SA, Victoria and WA. With approximately 100,000 members currently, NGS Super is moving from strength to strength, being featured in the top ten funds in Australia in 2010, 2011 and 2012*. During the mid 2000's, the Fund grew in membership and assets due to a number of amalgamations. The Independent Schools Superannuation Trust (ISST) merged with NGS Super in July 2005 followed by the Catholic Church Staff Superannuation Fund (CCSSF) in February 2006. These amalgamations saw NGS Super expand by approximately 22,000 members and $650 million in assets.

NGS Super grew further in 2011, as 6,500 members from Cuesuper (the industry fund for the credit union sector) were welcomed to the Fund. This saw NGS Super's total assets exceed $4 billion and membership climb to almost 90,000. A new merger with UC Super (membership base consisting of Uniting Church employees) took place on 1 March 2012. UC Super has approximately 12,000 members and $320 million in assets.

Today, NGS Super is managed by a board of twelve trustee directors. The board ensures that NGS Super's operations are well governed with a view to achieving the best possible financial outcomes for members.

The Fund's initial objective in 1988 was to provide high quality superannuation benefits at a low cost to members. This integral value remains today.
